BOOK CLUB ; suggestion post { may. }

Since several people have expressed their interest in a monthly book club, I think this would definitely be the best time to start!

✏ Suggestion posts will be made in the first week of every month. Members will then be able to make suggestions on books they'd like to read.
✏ Friday evening, a poll will be posted with all of the suggestions made and members can vote for the book they'd like to read the most.
✏ The most popular book will be announced on Sunday, and the official discussion post will be posted a week after that for those who are fast readers.
✏ This cycle will repeat itself in the first week of the new month.
✏ If you also want to read a book that's already been listed, please respond to that thread instead of making a new comment. This is to ensure that all nominations get added.

QUESTIONS OF THE MONTH:
✏ Should there be themes so that we don't get the same genre over and over? Or would it be better if we did a perpetual free-for-all?
✏ Should the person who suggested the winning novel be delegated to write a review upon completion?

MISC. ; book addicts anonymous.

book addicts anonymous.

So until the reviews start trickling in, every couple of days there'll be a fun/time-consuming activity for us to all partake in. Any suggestions can go on the rules post! Okay, so tonight's activity goes as follows: all of us have our little literary guilty pleasures/weak spots that we harbor but can never say in person to just anyone. Maybe you like a series that is generally frowned upon in the literary world. Maybe you've been trying to write a certain scene in your own novel but you're not sure if it's good enough. Whatever the case, BOOK ADDICTS ANONYMOUS is here to help. All posts should be anonymous and just about anything goes (within the rules, of course). Ready to let loose? READY, SET, GO!

HEY ♥ So as most of you know already, I'm Annay, one of your moddydoddies. QNNG [personal profile] yosuke is the FAAAAAAAAAAR more adept one but between the two of us, we'll keep everyting in line. ANYWAY, to kind of ease ourselves into this whole thing, I think it'd be super to kind of get a feel for what we all like to read. So I've concocted a meme with this handy little form, which you can definitely fill out and...etc. etc. you get the point. All of the rules still apply so make sure you read them before doing anything nasty, otherwise we'll...get you. ...Despite the fact that we're not threatening at all.

OKAY, LET'S HAVE SOME FUN ♥

Oh, and a pimp code if you want!

RULES & WELCOME!

WELCOME to FABLES, the literary hotspot of Dreamwidth! Long story short, this community was made for people to review and recommend books, as well as discuss the literary thematics within those books. We're a generally laid-back and friendly community, so to keep that cool persona, we've gotta lay down a few ground rules that are essentially common sense anyway.
✏ In order to maintain the integrity of this community, please try to post your reviews with some kind of formality. No one will care so much if you type normally in the comments, but for the sake of coherency, standard English should be used in the review post itself.
✏ Your opinions are desired and valued, so we encourage discussion.
✏ Please be kind and respectful to everyone. We do not discriminate based on any belief, so keep in mind the right of others to be respected. There is a big difference between criticism and insult.
✏ This is the standard form for posting reviews; you are welcome to jazz it up however you'd like, but please make sure to have all of the fields included.

✏ You may also hold discussions about a book without writing a formal review. In that case, please include "[INSERT TITLE HERE] DISCUSSION" in the title and proceed as usual.
✏ PLEASE tag your posts thoroughly.

We can also hold a monthly book club-type event. Please let me know if you would be interested in that sort of thing!

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask on this post. Thank you very much, and happy reading! ♥
