HEY ♥ So as most of you know already, I'm Annay, one of your moddydoddies. QNNG yosuke is the FAAAAAAAAAAR more adept one but between the two of us, we'll keep everyting in line. ANYWAY, to kind of ease ourselves into this whole thing, I think it'd be super to kind of get a feel for what we all like to read. So I've concocted a meme with this handy little form, which you can definitely fill out and...etc. etc. you get the point. Both are freaking amazing. I read them both back in HS, and sadly was probably the only one who actually enjoyed them /sad. William Faulkner is a genius. I was literally obsessed over The Sound and the Fury.

Faulkner is god. I've literally only recently gotten into him--I've just finished As I Lay Dying, not counting the short stories I read a couple years ago--so I haven't read the Sound and the Fury yet, but I'm already in love and it's a priority on my list, so ♥

But haha, yeah, most of the really ~*deep*~ books I like I read in high school and I was probably the only one who was like HOLYSHITTHESEBOOKS. At least with AILD I get the feeling most of my classmates don't care for it. But forget them, they have no taste.

agjfgh I really want to read "As I Lay Dying"! It's definitely on my list for this summer. Gotta go to the bookstore soon. *___* And aahh, I think you'll love the Sound and the Fury~ It seems like such a simple story, yet it has so much depth to it. I really wish he weren't dead, he could have been making more books :(

Srsly, if only there were one or two people in my class who liked the books we read at the time. Class discussions would have been much more interesting. I think the only book I didn't really like was "A Farewell to Arms"... (lol, I don't care for Ernest Hemingway very much).

As I Lay Dying is AMAZING. I was absolutely floored from start to finish. If the Sound and the Fury is anywhere near as good then I can definitely put Faulkner on my list of favorite authors. I want to write like him someday :( SOMEDAY.

My opinion on Hemingway is mixed; I haven't read much of him aside from a few short stories, but I kind of liked his writing style--on the other hand, I think the teacher was reading WAY more into it than what was really there. But eh, beauty of literature is we all end up seeing something different.
