I don't like everything he's written (Great Expectations makes me want to kick things) but I like his work overall, I guess. xD

He's really more of a poet than an author, I think. XD I'm not sure Kafka really counts, either.

I've never read any of Kafka's work before. o: Is there anything you would recommend?

You should read Metamorphosis. It's a short story and pretty easy to find online. :0

Do you have a particular favorite of his works?

I'm a huge fan of Shakespeare in general, haha. I've read almost all of his plays. My favorite is still Twelfth Night, though Much Ado About Nothing is also pretty good.

Twelfth Night is so fantastic (and also love for Much Ado About Nothing) ❤
I still have a huge soft spot for Julius Caesar though that tends to compete with Twelfth Night for my top favorite spot.

Julius Caesar is pretty good. *_* I also really like The Tempest and Antony & Cleopatra, haha.

it is... pretty good... I guess I was kinda too harsh orz. the symbolism is really interesting! I actually kinda liked... the white/black contrasts that were kinda prevalent throughout the novel.... plus the bits on imperialism were interesting! my fav character was marlow's aunt hahaha.

Hmm, I'm not really sure! I liked the whole idea, I guess. Kurtz was this guy who was supposed to be this cultured, amazing genius and yet he was so corrupted by the wilderness and did all this insane stuff just so he could stay there, even while dying. "The horror! The horror!" There are a lot of lines that randomly stick out for me, too, with imagery about the river and stuff. Obviously I've never been to the Congo, but it was so vivid in my head that I felt like I was there, almost.

I haven't read it in a while, though, so a lot of the finer details are a little fuzzy for me. |D

I've always loved that about her writing, too. And her books always make me feel like I'm in a fairy tale, since the settings she writes about are near the area where I live. *////*
